• Combine all work done during the semester in a folder
• Separate Response Papers and Essays
• Download the Index under Portfolio Assignment / Assigned Readings
• Put your name and class information and print it out
• Do reflection short essay: 1 pg. also located in the folder
• Make sure that you're doing the right one:  ENGL 100 or INRW0304

• Persuasive essay. Include proper intro as discussed in previous discussions. 
• Must include Thesis, Topics, and Academic Sources.  
• Must include parenthetical citations within the essay as well as a Works Cited or References page.
• If I chose a topic for you, those can be found under the assigned readings section
• LATE papers will be deducted 1 full letter grade

Group Assignment:  Read "Pedagogy of Poverty Versus Good Teaching" - Martin Haberman

Presentation: 5-8 min 

Begin to critically analyze the text (construct/build meaning). 

You are not summarizing the essay to present. 

Pick something specific within the article that you wish to discuss as a group.  

You have the autonomy of presenting anyway you want

Medium:

• If you are using multi-media, please bring device to use in class that can be used with projector(ex. laptop computer)
• If using power point, save in USB drive
• If using YouTube, keep to minimal (1-2 min tops)
• If handing out material, please make sufficient copies

• Everyone must participate
• I will be providing FEEDBACK for each individual group
• ORIGINALITY of presentation will be taken into account
• Looking for thoughtful ANALYSIS and interpretations of the TEXT (Article)

• I want a unified paper / cohesive / organized essay
• Construct meaning, use your writing experience, use discussions in class to guide your paper
